ALMOND MILK

Making your own almond milk is so much better then buying anything like it at the store. Its fairly easy, just takes some thinking ahead. You can store it in your fridge, to have on hand & will last for a few days. This almond milk is a living food, meaning none of the enzymes, minerals & nutrients have been damaged by heat. Eating a diet high in living foods helps to keep your body alkaline. Having an alkaline body helps your body to fight of disease.

Ingredients
1 cup raw almonds
3 cups filtered water
1 Medjool date, pitted
or Tbsp raw honey
pinch of Real salt

Directions
Place almonds in a jar and cover with water,
soak almonds 8-12 hours.

Rinse almonds. Don't forget this important step. The reason you soak nuts is because they contain enzyme inhibitors, which get in the way of your bodies ability to digest and properly absorb nutrients. Rinsing the almonds, washes away any released enzyme inhibitors during soaking.

Place soaked almonds in high speed blender,
with 3 cups fresh filtered water.
Blend until almonds are fine.

Strain in a nut milk bag or in cheese cloth
over a mesh strainer.

Place strained milk in blender with date, blend until smooth.
Add a pinch a salt to bring out the lovely almond flavor.

Use almond milk on your oats in the mornin' or enjoy just by the
glass. Recipes coming soon for raw warm chai & raw hot chocolate, using this almond milk recipe.
