while we were in port townsend we came across this darlin' local band, the crow quill night owls.
they are a jug band, meaning they use traditional and homemade instruments made from ordinary objects, like a washtub bass. this music style originated in the south during the depression. they sing about moonshine, bootleggin' & southern blues.
we bought both of their cds and they played a show at an asian noodle house on halloween, so we even got to see them live. they really play the part and have style for days. their albums are made out of brown lunch sacks.
